our wish list

Wish lists help us show the community exactly what keeps Connecting Corridors moving. They turn practical needs into shared opportunities, making it easy for people to support the tools, equipment and resources that strengthen our work on the ground. Every item on this list represents something real we use to protect habitats, run education sessions and support volunteers. When people choose to help with a specific need, they become part of the story, part of the effort and part of the impact. A wish list is simply our way of inviting the community to build this work with us.

SEEKING SPONSORS

COVERED TRAILER

A covered trailer lets Connecting Corridors safely transport tools, plants, signage and wildlife gear while protecting everything from weather and theft. It becomes a mobile base for on-site work, education and community engagement.

EDUCATION TRAILER

A large covered van trailer is essential for a mobile education centre because it protects displays, equipment and wildlife materials from weather, provides secure storage, and creates a stable, all-conditions space for community learning anywhere.

 SEEDLINGS & SEEDS

Seedlings are vital in a badly cleared area because they rebuild structure, restore soil health and bring life back to a damaged landscape. They stabilise ground, reduce erosion, support wildlife and begin long-term ecological recovery.

 PLANT GUARDS

Plant guards are essential in roo and rabbit-heavy areas because they shield young seedlings during their most vulnerable stage. Guards prevent grazing damage, help plants establish strong roots and dramatically improve survival in tough landscapes.

IBCs & PUMP

IBC tanks, pumps and accessories give Connecting Corridors a reliable mobile watering system for new plantings. They let volunteers transport, store and deliver water efficiently across multiple sites, improving survival and reducing labour.

VOLUNTEER COMFORTS

Volunteers need personal safety equipment and comfortable apparel to work confidently and avoid injury. Team shirts build identity and belonging, while a gazebo provides shade and folding chairs offer essential rest during long community sessions.

INSURANCE

Insurance costs matter because they protect our volunteers, equipment and community activities from unexpected risks. Without adequate cover, even a small incident could halt our work or drain limited funds. Support with insurance ensures we can operate safely, meet compliance requirements and continue delivering on-ground restoration, education & wildlife projects with confidence.

TECHNOLOGY

Laptops, printers, tablets, 3D printers and other technology help Connecting Corridors work smarter and faster. They support mapping, design, education, volunteer coordination and on-site problem-solving, turning complex tasks into efficient, community-ready outcomes.

ROOTS 'n SHOOTS FESTIVAL

Sponsors help bring the festival to life by supporting a celebration of everything that grows and everything we can create from that growth. Their backing powers workshops, music, activities and a vibrant community atmosphere.

CITIZEN SCIENCE

Citizen science projects need equipment like meters, cameras, sample kits and data tools. These results guide restoration decisions, track wildlife, monitor habitat health and provide evidence for funding, planning and community action.

Materials We Need

Your contribution can help transform these barren patches into thriving ecosystems, fostering local biodiversity and enhancing the natural beauty of our town.

1

MULCH - After construction, our local soils often struggle with hydrophobic conditions, resisting water absorption and creating a hurdle for healthy plant growth. Mulch is a vital remedy, acting as a moisture-retaining blanket that not only combats these challenging conditions but also enriches soil health and supports vibrant plant life.

2

NATIVE WILDFLOWER & GRASS SEEDS - Our community's natural ecosystem is facing a challenge with the declining numbers of pollinators and dwindling habitats for local wildlife. By planting wildflowers and native grasses, we can create vital havens that provide essential food and shelter for bees, butterflies, and a variety of wildlife species.

3

ROCKS - Rocks play a crucial role in creating natural habitats, controlling water flow, retaining moisture, and building durable structures. By incorporating them into our projects, we can establish resilient landscapes that support diverse wildlife and plant life, while also enhancing the beauty and functionality of our community areas..

4

PALLETS - Our community is buzzing with creative projects, all thanks to the humble pallet! Pallet wood is incredibly versatile, making it perfect for constructing everything from sturdy garden structures and unique furniture pieces to eye-catching art installations.

5

GABIONS, LARGE WOOD SPOOLS, LOG OFFCUTS - We are on a mission to create inviting seating areas where everyone can gather, socialize, or simply take a breather during a stroll. Gabions, log offcuts, and large wood spools are the perfect materials for building these cozy spots. Not only are they functional and visually appealing, but they also integrate seamlessly with our natural surroundings.
